This morning the first six interpretive signs of the Umm el-Jimal Project’s walking tour were installed on site. Covering the House XVII-XVIII Complex, all of the signs are dual Arabic and English and form a successful pilot for the project’s planned interpretive trail of more than 30 points of interest. What’s more, the sign’s content and locations also match up with the Umm el-Jimal website’s interactive Umm el-Jimal Virtual Tour.
The signage was developed on a volunteer basis by the Umm el-Jimal Project and Open Hand Studios, and printed and installed by Jordan’s Siyaha tourism development project.
