Our group posing with Tariq al-Mhairat (wearing blue tie), U of Jordan Museum Curator, consists of professors and PhD candidates from Palestine, Jordan, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Sudan, Norway and the USA. The Palestinian Project, “Urban Transformation,” is at Birzeit University; the African project, “Borderlands,” is at Khartoum, Adis Ababa and Makerere Universities. The University of Bergen is the ‘host’ of both projects, and Norad, the Norwegian development agency, is funding both projects over four years. The Umm el-Jimal Project participates in “Urban Transformation”.
